ER's Switching From Promil Kid to Nido 3+

Since ER is getting healthier, hubby and I decided to switch her milk from Promil Kid to Nido 3+. We had already consulted her pedia about it and she said that it's okay. We tried Nido 3+ because it has less sugar than other brands. Last night is judgment day because it will be her first time to taste Nido 3+. After sipping, her first word was "ang asim" (with her right eye closed and with pouted mouth) but when hubby tasted it, it's delicious. Hubby and I laughed out loud. We never thought that she would react that way. We knew all along that ER was just joking around. That's why we love ER so much because she never failed to make us smile everyday. :)

I Finally Joined The Magnum Craze

Upon seeing the TVC of Magnum, I immediately wanted to buy and taste it. But unfortunately I can't because of my allergy cough (wrong timing indeed). Now, that my allergy cough has subsided (Thanks God), I finally get to taste this Selecta product that people are all raving about.

First, I like its packaging... its super sealed. Second, I love the chocolate covering, it's very yummy. But when I tried the filling I tasted nothing unusual. Third, its price is too expensive. It costs P50 at Savemore. My overall rating is 6/10.

P.S. This is my first food review so please spare me. :)

I Will Be Turning 35 Next Month

In less than a month, I will be 35. Thank you God for the 35 years! I'm not frightened to talk about my age because I am always mistaken to be less 30 years old. It's no joke. It's true. He he he.

I'm the type of person who is not into physical or material things. However, I love surprises! A free treat from someone would be wonderful. Honestly, I don't want a grand celebration. As long as I'm with hubby and ER, it's fine. Spending quality time with them is already enough.

If anybody of you would like to send me gifts, no worries, I would be willing to accept it. I’m just kidding. A simple birthday greeting will already make me the happiest human on earth. :)

P.S. I'm still cooking up something on ER's and my birthday for my followers and this would be my first ******** in my blog. I just hope it will push through. :)

Discrimination at Dave's Funhouse Megamall

We never missed a chance to drop ER by at Dave's Funhouse Megamall whenever we can. This is a good bonding moment with other mommies and kids as well. We have been their regular customer for many years. We never thought that an awful incident will happen last Saturday. Usually it's hubby who do the signing up while I prepare for ER's socks. When it's hubby's turn to register, the cashier said to hubby that the next customer should be served first because they are still arguing if they would allow ER's guardians, aged 12 and 13, inside and worst they let ER out and let the other kid in. Is it because the other parents & kids were dressed in fashionable clothes, have fair skin and looks rich and we are dressed in simple clothing doesn't mean we can't afford it. I believe it's should be in a first-come, first-served basis and the staff should not let the kid in unless he's already registered and paid. That incident made hubby and me furious but we still managed our composure. We are educated people here and we don't want to create a scene. We just proceeded with the transaction and pretended nothing happened. But hubby definitely will take some drastic action. It's a good thing that they have numbers to text/call for comments, suggestions and feedbacks. Hubby, is an advertising and PR graduate, is good at it. I also noticed that the staff didn't assist the kids at the stairs and at the slides but instead do chitchats at the counter. The staff also allowed one customer with under aged guardians, aged 4 and 5. This is just so unfair. Ten minutes before the cutoff time, the kids already left Dave's. This time hubby texted his complaints and after two hours, he received a call from the owner. The owner was triggered by the complaint that's why she immediately called hubby because it's been years that she hasn’t received any feedbacks from customers. She was thankful and sorry at the same time. Honestly, we don't want the two staff be fired but should undergo extensive training instead.

How about you? Did you experience the same thing? What did you do? I would love to hear your story. Thanks! :)

Any Third Birthday Suggestions?

In less than two weeks, ER will be celebrating her 3rd birthday. Oh how time really flies so fast and how kids these days grow quickly. Soon, ER will be going to school and this is just another milestone we look forward to. I hope it goes well.

Until now, hubby and I are still undecided what to do in ER's big day. We don't want a grand celebration, a simple gathering of family and friends will do. Another option is to celebrate it somewhere just the three of us in Manila Ocean Park maybe. Actually, it will be ER's second time there. Her first time was on her 1st birthday. I believe ER would enjoy it more because they have more attractions like Trails to Antarctica, Jellies: Dancing Sea Fairies, Musical Fountain Show, Sea Lion Show, Penguin Talkshow, Aquanaut Voyage, Glass Bottom Boat Ride, Swimming and Fun & Funtasea Games and Rides. Two years ago, there was only The Oceanarium & Fish Spa if I am not mistaken and the mall is still under construction and there are only few food stalls. Probably, we are going to eat in a resto like Bizu and have coffee break at Starbucks. I need to use the GCs I have won in a giveaway before it expires. So food is free already, we need to spend only on Manila Ocean Park fees. As much as possible, we would like ER to enjoy the most because it's her special day.

What do you think? Any suggestions or ideas? It would be highly appreciated. Thanks. :)

Things That I Do When I Have Insomnia

There are times that I cannot get to sleep at night even if I am so exhausted that day. What do I need to do? First that comes to my mind is to read a book. Gosh, I have already finished reading the two books that I have won in a giveaway. I think I need new books. Why not fix my things or ER's unorganized things while she was still sleeping tightly. Oops, I have already done that last week. How about manually writing an article for my blog? I usually write down my thoughts first on my personal notebook and the next day blog about it. This is not a bad idea though. I am actually a nocturnal person, having worked at night shifts for many years, I believe I can clearly think more at night and ideas flow more in my case.

How about you? What are the things that you do when you have trouble falling asleep? I would love to hear them too. :)

Tagaytay Getaway

Hubby and I just celebrated our 8th wedding anniversary last January 24th. Congratulations to both of us  because we just surpassed the so-called 7-year itch of married life. And as a treat, hubby and I decided to go to Tagaytay with our little angel ER. As always, I'm the one who do the researching and planning of everything. I think it took me a week or so to do the research because as much as possible I would like to visit places there that we've never been to.

Here's our itinerary:
We left Manila at around 8am. We had our breakfast via Jollibee drive-thru at Shell SLEX-Binan. After two hours of travelling, we arrived at Twin Pines Suites at around 10am. We unpacked our things and rested for a while.

Twin Pines Suites

We had our lunch at Chic-Boy in One Destination Resto just across our place. Then, we went to Residence Inn Mini Zoo. Honestly, it's quite disappointing because there's nothing much to see in that zoo. It's ER's first time at the zoo so we don't want to spoil her day.

Then we proceeded to Paradizoo. First, we had kikiam and soft drinks as snacks. There, we get to see the Paradizoo flower farm, the Pet Cemetery and the five-legged cow (the last two being featured at Balitang K before). It's also ER's first time to do the pony ride. She enjoyed it very much. I think our little girl is going to grow up to be an adventurous one because we did not see her get frightened on her first pony ride. Then, we went back to Twin Pines Suites for a quick rest. We had our dinner at Teriyaki Boy in One Destination and returned to our suite for a good night's sleep.

The next morning at around 7am, we had CornSiLog with coffee/hot choco for breakfast (it was included in the package). We proceeded to Picnic Groove & People's Park in the Sky for a walk. Then, we went to a souvenir shop to buy some goodies for our people. We proceeded to Our Lady of Manaoag to give thanks for all the blessings that we have received all year round. We had lunch at Max's Restaurant in One Destination and we went back to our suite to pack our things. Our last stop was Rowena's Cafe to buy pasalubong for our loved ones back home. As I've said in this post, I'm the one who did the research including the pasalubong thingy. It's worth it because we get to taste the yummy buko pie of Rowena's. No offense to Collette's, it's true, Rowena's is more flavorful. We have never tried Amira's though. We have been hearing good reviews about it too.

That day was a very tiring but very fulfilling one. We get to see Tagaytay's secret side. We never had a chance to visit The Flower Farm, Japanese Friendship Garden, Pink Sister's Convent, Bag of Beans, Josephine's Restaurant, Leslie's Restaurant, Mushroom Burger, and Cliffhouse because of lack of time and budget. I think the itinerary that I did was for 3 days. Never mind, as they say there's always a next time! :)

My Top 3 Summer Must Haves

Yehey, summer is finally here!  (Though at times the weather is still unpredictable) It's time to get a tan. It's fun time again especially for the kids because they get to spend a day at the beach or swimming pool. It's definitely one way of building bonds with our family. I still remember ER's first swimming experience. She doesn't want to get out of the water. When she gets hungry that is the only time that she would get out of the water. Wow, that was two years ago. Now, I still don't know where to spend our summer outing though. Maybe somewhere near our place will do.

It is fun time but be sure that we are protected from the sun's scorching heat and here are the items that tops my lists.

1. Sunscreen lotion - I think this one should be in everyone's top list especially for the chikitings
2. Sunglasses - This one should not only be used during summer but all year round. I have read somewhere that even on cloudy days UV rays are still present
3. Flip flops - I think every woman needs a good pair of flip flops for a more laid back look. It's time to set aside those closed shoes of ours.

How about you? What summer must haves top your list? Share yours now. I would love to hear yours... :)

Allergy Cough, Allergy Cough Go Away

This allergy cough has been bothering me for 3 weeks now. I had no decent sleep and rest since then because it usually attacks at night. My cough is characterized by super itchy throat and dry cough. I believe there's no instant cure for this kind of cough. I have done some steps just too at least decrease the itchiness and dryness of my throat.

1. Sip a small amount of water or freshly squeezed juice like calamansi once in a while to avoid dryness of my mouth and throat
2. Avoid too much hot and cold drink as much as possible
3. Stay away from spicy and salty foods
4. Avoid dust, particles and feathers which might trigger the allergy
5. Consult my physician for medicine. I tried Benadryl Antihistamine now. I hope it works better.

Until now I'm not quite sure what triggered this allergy cough of mine. The doctor told me it might something to do with the food I eat, sudden change of season, factors like smoke, dust and the like.

It's kind of blessing in disguise for me for I had shed some pounds already. Just right in time for Holy Week, I need to sacrifice food that I love to eat.

How about you? Did you experience the same sickness? Share yours. I would love to hear your story. :)
